Replace a timed lyric segment in a generated song

Use Edit Music when the track works but one lyric passage does not. It is more focused than regenerating the song and different from Extend, which continues beyond a chosen point.

Open the timed editor

1. Find a completed full song in the results or Library.
2. Open the … menu.
3. Choose Edit Music.
4. Wait for the timed lyrics to load.

The action can be unavailable for partial extensions or unsupported tracks. It is currently presented as a paid beta feature, so availability and stability can vary.

Select a useful musical window

Click one lyric line to mark the start and another to mark the end. The current editor accepts a selection from 6 to 60 seconds.

Do not choose a range only because the words fit. Listen for a musical boundary:

• begin before the phrase’s pickup if the new words need the same entrance;
• include the end of a cadence if the rhyme changes;
• avoid cutting through a sustained note or a strong drum transition.

Choose Reset Selection if the highlighted range does not contain a complete musical thought.

Write replacement lyrics for the existing space

Enter the new text in New Lyric Segment. Preserve roughly the same amount of singable material unless you deliberately want a different density. Check syllable count, stressed words, vowels on long notes, and the final rhyme.

Submit the edit, then compare the result with the original on three points:

1. Is the new line intelligible?
2. Does its phrasing sit naturally in the existing rhythm?
3. Does the transition into and out of the edited window sound continuous?

Keep the original until the replacement passes all three checks. A successful local edit should solve one identifiable problem without forcing you to rebuild the rest of the arrangement.

Record the edit before choosing a winner

Name the source, selected time range, old line, new line, and reason for the change. Compare at the same listening level and do not judge only the replacement words: the surrounding vocal tone and accompaniment must still belong to the song. If one version improves pronunciation but damages the transition, keep both and make a second edit from the original. A short edit log prevents an attractive new phrase from hiding a worse musical join.
