Write and revise lyrics in the professional studio

Start from an idea, an authorized draft, or a blank page; use focused co-writing actions, section labels, autosave, checkpoints, and music handoff.

Follow this guide in the studio ↗

Open Write Lyrics from the product navigation. This workspace is designed for writing and revision, not for asking AI to replace every creative decision.

Pick the right starting point

Choose New lyric, then select one of three paths:

  1. Start from an idea — describe the subject, choose the lyric language, and optionally add sound, mood, and purpose.
  2. Edit existing lyrics — paste text that you wrote or have permission to use, then confirm your rights.
  3. Start with a blank page — open the editor without generating anything.

When starting from an idea, Opening options gives several directions to compare. A full first draft is faster, but it creates more material to evaluate. Use the first option when the song’s point of view is still uncertain.

Make small requests in the co-writer

In the workspace, place the cursor where new text belongs or select no more than the allowed number of lines. Then open AI co-writer.

  • Write next line continues from the cursor.
  • Rewrite selected lines changes only the selection.
  • Continue this section follows the current verse or chorus.
  • The craft actions can make a passage catchier, simpler, more poetic, more rhythmic, or more emotionally specific.

Suggestions remain separate until you choose Insert at cursor or Replace selection. If a suggestion was based on an older draft, review it before replacing current text.

Protect useful versions

Autosave handles normal editing. Use Save checkpoint when a chorus, verse, or complete draft becomes worth returning to. Version history can restore a checkpoint, while Undo and Redo cover recent local changes.

Use section labels such as [Verse], [Chorus], and [Bridge] to clarify structure. Labels help navigation, but the writing still needs contrast: a chorus should compress the central claim, and a bridge should reveal a new angle.

When the lyrics are ready, choose Create music with these lyrics. Confirm that you can use the text; the studio then carries the draft into the music generator instead of making you copy it manually.

Before handoff, verify the section plan with the song-structure guide. After the draft reaches the generator, use a Style brief to define the global production direction.
